  • In Memory of Vincent Lionti

The International Percy Grainger Society lost a treasured, longtime board member, Vincent Lionti, to COVID-19 on April 4, 2020.  Nobody "wanted the music to go on" (a Grainger Society axiom) like our Vincent!

He was the force behind our upcoming (now cancelled) May 3 concert. (Click here for program) He arranged it, set the program, and was going to play his beloved viola, along with his friends (and fellow Grainger House volunteers) Rick Masters, piano, and Mark Grant, harmonium. He was in touch with Paul Cohen, saxophonist, to arrange a similar concert in July.

Please help us honor his efforts, his memory, and his wonderful, kind, music-loving spirit. Play your instrument, whatever it is (he loved them all!), and start with "This is for you, Vincent Lionti.  Record yourself. Please post on Facebook, or your social media of choice, with the hashtags:  #RIPVincentLionti #PercyGraingerStrong #WPFrontPorchConcert

You can use your own front porch, of course, and we encourage that in these social distancing days.  If you are local, and don't have a front porch or simply prefer, you can use the front porch at the Percy Grainger House.  You will have PLENTY of room, just set up your phone camera and record.

On behalf of the heart- broken IPGS family, thank you for helping with our memorial to Vincent.  He will be sorely missed.
