Agenda for the Annual Meeting

Annual Members' Meeting

A Message from Percy Grainger Society President,
Dr. Paul Jackson

Dear Percy Grainger Society Members and Guests,

As our 2026 Annual Members’ Meeting approaches, we would like to thank you for your continued support of and engagement with the Percy Grainger Society. Over the past year, we have gained significant momentum in our work, with successful programs, increased donations and grants, and the involvement of many new volunteers. This period of growth is something we can all take pride in, and it reflects the vital role our members and volunteers continue to play.

We hope you will be able to join us for this year’s Annual Members’ Meeting, which will take place shortly after Percy Grainger’s birthday on Saturday, July 11 at 4:00 pm Eastern Time (9:00 pm BST, 6:00 am AEST, July 12). The meeting will be recorded and made available in the members’ section of our website for those unable to attend live.

The meeting will include discussion of the following key topics:

  • Review of activities in 2025–26, including our new GlossGlide initiative
  • New programs and initiatives for 2026–27, from our new Strategic Plan
  • Introduction of "Inventing Percy Grainger", our  three-part virtual program
  • A review of the Percy Grainger Symposium at Brigham Young University
  • Updates on the capital grant supporting work on the Grainger House
  • Plans for an expanded Giving Tuesday campaign, including efforts to restore Percy’s room and undertake additional second-floor improvements
  • Opportunities for member participation and engagement

We anticipate the meeting will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.

As always, we will reserve time for questions and open discussion. You are also welcome to send questions in advance by email to paul@percygrainger.org.

With best wishes, and we hope to see you at the meeting,

Paul Jackson

Any Musicologists Out There?

Partnership Coordinator

The Percy Grainger Society is looking for a volunteer with an interest in musicology and music history to help PGS take advantage of an exciting new opportunity. We have recently been invited to join the American Musicological Society’s Coalition of Music Organizations, a network that offers access to grant funding, outreach support, and collaboration with peer institutions.

To make the most of this partnership, we are seeking a PGS–AMS Partnership Coordinator to serve as our liaison. This volunteer will monitor communications, track deadlines, share opportunities with the board, and assist with coordinating grant applications and related materials. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, and interested in supporting music preservation and scholarship. Comfort with email and basic online collaboration tools is important. The time commitment is modest—typically 2–5 hours per week. Click here for the announcement.

This is a meaningful way to contribute to preserving and promoting Percy Grainger’s legacy while helping the Society build valuable new connections.

Construction Begins

Exterior Construction

The exterior renovation of the Percy Grainger Home & Studio has begun! As you can see in the photo above, the construction team began working under clear blue skies at 7 Cromwell Place after a much-anticipated start of the project.

The Percy Grainger Society was awarded a Capital Projects Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support this critical exterior restoration of Grainger's historic White Plains residence. Renovations now underway will resolve longstanding water drainage issues and prevent further deterioration of the building’s exterior. Construction project components include:

  • Restoration and enlargement of gutter outlets and downspouts
  • Repair and replacement of damaged eaves, soffits, rafter tails, and cedar shingles
  • Repointing of the foundation where needed
  • Restoration of porch elements and improvements to site drainage

Additional details are available through this link to the project press release.

*Please note: June 1 through July 31, tours will be on hold due to Exterior Restoration work. Special requests can be made via email: info@percygrainger.org*
